Croaked is the fifth episode of the ABC original series, High Potential. It will air on October 22, 2024, and the next day on Hulu.
Synopsis[]
The team investigates the death of an exotic animal veterinarian, uncovering a complicated love triangle in the process. Work interferes with Karadec’s dating life, while Morgan follows a parental hunch about her teenage daughter and snoops on Ava.
Plot[]
A man is looking for his pet lizard. He finds it crawling around the dead animal vet. Although it appears natural, the printer disagrees as do the spots on her hands. The case is solved right away by Morgan as a poisonous frog is in the soap dispense and has killed the vet. Someone reported her missing though so they follow the lead. After a second lead from the informant's son, the man who had been fighting with the victim had an alibi. The man turns out to be a man who owned a spider who died at the vet's clinic. He had been threatening her but besides going to a her house to scare her, he did nothing wrong. It does tell the others that there is a house in Hollywood. After visiting the house in Hollywood, they learn that the vet had a secret life of a animal trafficker. She was doing it to buy a house for her son and her 'friend'. The friend believed the victim was in love with her at first then figured out that she wasn't. She was instead using the friend to get to her son which she had given up at birth as she was a pregnant teen. The friend had found out and killed the victim to stop her from trying to steal her son away from her.
